ADDITIONAL GUN QUALIFICATION

You can qualify for your handgun carry permit in Tennessee with any handgun. It does not have to be the gun you carry. However, it is in your best interest for, safety and legal reasons, to qualify with every gun you may carry. For safety, you want to know the handgun you carry and you want to be accurate with it. For legal reasons, if you ever had to use that handgun in self defense, it may be helpful to be able to prove that you took the time to qualify with it, as prosecuting attorneys can bring it up in court and have.  You may attend the range portion of an ongoing class without attending the classroom portion. Bring the gun  you would like to qualify with.
